conflictsWith
Names whose instances may not run beside an instance of this package, in its namespace or anywhere in the cluster.
meta.conflictsWith = [ "alt-pkg" "cluster:certManager" ];meta.conflictsWith is a list of names. Each name is matched against the
instance names and aliases of the cluster’s other instances. When another
instance matches, evaluation fails with an assertion that names the
conflicting instances.
| Entry | Matches |
|---|---|
"<name>" | Other instances in the same namespace |
"cluster:<name>" | Other instances in any namespace |
The instance never conflicts with itself, so a package that may run only
once per cluster lists its own default alias with the cluster: prefix.
cert-manager does this with conflictsWith = [ "cluster:certManager" ];,
because a second install would fight over the same cluster-scoped objects.
The assertion names the instance that declares the entry. A conflicting
instance that auto-instantiation created is marked with the consumers it was
created for. Auto-instantiation reads a cluster: entry naming one of the
package’s own names too: when consumers in more than one namespace require
the package from availablePackages, evaluation fails and asks for one
declared instance.
The attribute is optional. Its default is [ ].
